Inspiring Artwork: Let’s Go See the Stars
This lovely depiction of the forest under starlight is a great reminder that it is important not to stay bogged down even when battling a serious mental illness. It would be a lie to state that it is always easy to be active when you feel sad, but by closing yourself off and allowing yourself to continually listen to the negative thought in your head, you make it extremely difficult to heal.
As a child, camping was one of my favorite activities. I always felt free when I was outdoors and at peace with the world, and there is always this since of wonder I get whenever I look at the stars. It’s as if nothing could ever hurt me.
Although camping and spending an extended period of time in the great outdoors may not be for everyone, I encourage you to find some time to get active especially if you feel a bad episode coming on. This will hopefully keep your bad thoughts at bay or at least limit the amount of time you feel down.
