The Healing Power of Water
Besides being a necessity for us to survive, water has a soothing property to it that makes it a great therapy tool to help with depression. Going to the beach and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing along the shore can be a nice change from listening to the negatives voices inside your head. Putting your feet in the water or even wading out in it if you are brave enough is a great way to help put your mind at peace. Although, if you do not live near the beach, or an open source of water, you can still benefit from its healing power.
I have always been a fan of taking baths and long showers. For me, being in the hot water makes me feel rejuvenated, and often aids to give me a better perspective on why I started relapsing in the first place. I am also a fan of aquariums, where I can enjoy water’s healing powers without ever even having to get wet. So, whether it is going to the beach or the pool, or even going to an aquarium where water and the creatures in it can be admired from afar, I hope you can find some aquatic solace to help you fight against The Darkness.
